JACKSON, MS – (JANUARY 10, 2020) – The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) has appointed Paul A. Brown as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Brown is a proud graduate of Florida A&M University where he earned a dual bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration and master’s degree in business administration.

Delivering more than 25 years of experience in non-aeronautical revenue generation, specifically in airport concessions development and management, Brown is regarded as one of the industry’s leaders in analysis, forecasting and trending. His industry experience includes positions held at Seattle–Tacoma (SEA), Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Washington Reagan National (DCA) airports.

Prior to joining JMAA, Brown was the Assistant General Manager for Commercial Development at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) where he oversaw the division responsible for properties and airline affairs, concessions, parking, advertising, external real estate development, air service development and innovation.

As Director of Concessions in ATL, he led the design, evaluation and selection process for the world’s largest single airport concessions’ request for proposal (RFP). This RFP featured 152 pre-existing and new spaces for retail as well as food and beverage in the atrium and on all seven concourses throughout the Airport.

I am delighted to be joining the talented staff at JMAA,” stated Paul Brown. This is a significant appointment for me, and I look forward to making the Authority more successful in the coming months and years, and to supporting the JMAA Board in the achievement of its strategic initiatives. My wife, Jill, and I also look forward to working on social issues that are important to the Jackson community.

On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we are exceptionally excited to welcome Mr. Brown to the JMAA family as the Chief Executive Officer, stated JMAA Board of Commissioners Chairwoman LaWanda D. Harris. His experience, knowledge, and strong capabilities will well position this organization in progressing the JMAA Strategic Plan 2021 and being the motivational drive to enhance pride and productivity within our organization and community. The process of selecting the next CEO for JMAA has been grueling yet rewarding. Our flow of success stories is a true testament to the hard work and diligence of Mr. Darion Warren’s tenacity while leading the organization as the Interim CEO. We are grateful to him for his leadership during this transition. As Chairwoman of the Board of Commissioners, I have the utmost confidence that Mr. Brown will uphold the JMAA values and mission as we elevate to the next level of Being Your Airports of Choice.

A northern California native, Brown is married to Jill Brown, who is also a career airline and aviation professional. They are both very involved in their local community and support several initiatives to end homelessness, end human trafficking and introduce minority and at-risk youth to the numerous careers in aviation. They look forward to joining and contributing to the Jackson, Mississippi community.
